To move or not to move.......

Busy weekend. A friend of ours from Minnesota was in Phoenix with her husband for a Teacher's Job Conference, so we were with them for most of the weekend, showing them around the city. They are considering moving here so he can find a job as a phy. ed. teacher. He graduated from a very prestigious private college about 3 years and has only been able to find temporary work as a substitute teacher in Minneapolis. He met with several of the different school districts in the Phoenix area for impromptu interviews. The problem is although he wants to move here for work, our friend is really opposed to the idea. She is a twin and is very close to her twin sister and cant imagine moving away from her, especially since she just had her first baby. I feel bad for our friend and her husband because he really wants to teach but has been unable to find work in Minnesota, so for him to find work in the career he really wants, it would mean moving across the country, something that his wife is very opposed to. They are kind of between a rock and hard place. I am just thinkful that my wife and I see eye to eye on so many things. It makes life so much easier.

That is a tough one! My boyfriend and I came to that same problem- his job is very specialized and there are only a few companies in the US that do it. Therefore, to do what he loved, we had to move to Dallas. I can be a nurse anywhere, so I will move back down there with him when I graduate. The deal is that when we are ready to start a family, we will move home. This way he gets his dream job for awhile, but I know I get to be by my family again.

Oh how sad! I totally understand this dilemma! My sister and I are soooo close that she would move with me and my family! My sister-in-law is a petroleum engineer and this limits where she can live which if difficult for the family. She mentioned moving to Saudi Arabia...and I think we all said "oh hell no" in unison! LOL
Best wishes to you friends, I hope they can agree on something that fits their needs! Did you tell them how awesome Phoenix is????

Hi again! Thanks for your well wishes to my cousin! Believe it or not, she is doing very well. Everyone is in shock. The sheriff, two witnesses to the accident, and the EMT came to visit her and couldn't believe she survived. We heard everything about the accident, pretty sickening! But, she had surgery on Saturday on her legs, ankles, and wrist. They tried suction out as much fat from the bone marrow, but warned us that she might become disoriented or unconscious again, but she didn't! She is sitting up in a reclinder looking wheelchair, joking, smiling, and beating the odds! She will have a long hospitalization and rehabilitation stay, but she is well worth it!
